New Yorkers Complain About Noise
Noise complaints filed at NYC’s 311 in each of the last four years:
- 2010 = 86, 364
- 2011 = 92, 083 up 6.6%
- 2012 = 101, 392 up 10.1%
- 2013 = 107, 931 up 6.4%
- 2014 = 145, 465 up 34.8%
The spike could be because of a spike in noise, a spike in the number of New Yorkers filing complaints (instead of giving up on it as a futile exercise), or a bit of both. See the previous post for other speculation why the number might have spiked.
