Covid-19: Lessons from Nassau County…
Hofstra University, in the town of West Hempstead in New York state’s Nassau county, re-opened for in-person classes in the last week of August. It saw a spike in confirmed cases of Covid-19 within a few days, doubling the county-wide count from under 3 cases per 100,000 population to over 6 per 100,000. Governor Cuomo threatened to shut Hofstra down if they didn’t get a handle on the spike. Three weeks later, is Nassau past the spike .. or too soon to tell. Prudence says too soon to tell.
