Quarterly complaints to NYC’s 311
The sharp drop from the second to the third quarter of 2019 is notable. A forensic look should establish if New Yorkers collectively decided to not complain as much as they were wont to (if you believe that, there’s a bridge… ), if the reduction was across the board, or if the drop in complaints was attributable to one or two specific agencies. 311 stopped taking complaints about loud gas-powered pressure washers some time ago. Not taking complaints is one way to reduce complaints. But stay tuned… a deeper dig is on its way.
